This was originally a small thatched two roomed cottage with loft, and you can still see the outline of the fireplace at one end. Later, this room was used as a dormitory for Irish language students. If you came to learn Irish here over the past century you may well have stayed here. Even if you didn't, you will more than likely have bought sweets in the shop here.
It consists of an open-plan kitchen and living area, with a stairs leading up to a loft bedroom with en suite toilet and shower. The ceiling is double height to the roof as you enter, making the space feel bright and airy. The loft is accessed by a catwalk across this height, adding drama.
Upstairs the king sized bed has a comfort mattress, and all our bed-linen is luxurious high threadcount cotton. The duvet is a wool duvet, hypoallergenic, breathable, and extremely comfortable for a good night's sleep. Blackout blinds can be pulled down if a late sleep-in is desired.
The lime plaster and underfloor heating keep the cottage cosy, and there is a wood burning stove in the living area. There is a TV here, with access to a library of films and TV shows, or you can link to your own Netflix account. We provide a small selection of books and games.
